In order to be married in the Bahamas you must:

1. Provide proof that both parties are free to marry. This can be in the form of a finalized divorce decree, a death certificate (in the event of widowhood), or an Affidavit of Singularity. Please contact us for information regarding the affidavit.

2. Fill out an application for a marriage license, available from the Island Administrator's Office or your marriage officer.

3. Appear (both parties) at the Island Administrator's Office in Marsh Harbour with all of the above plus photo identification.  A fee of $100.00 is payable at this time and you should receive your license next day.

(You must be in the Bahamas for a period of 24 hours before your license will be granted.)

Please note:

The Administrator's Office is closed on weekends and Bahamian Holidays. It is best that you call the office at 242 367 2344 to ensure the office will be open.

Your marriage officer will need to have your license in hand at 24 hours prior to the wedding in order to prepare the proper papers.
